Well, I *thought* i knew how to tell the flowers apart until I saw the flowering female at Lam's place. Now they both look the same to me.

Even this drawing is not helpful because when they're opening I havent found any resources to show the differences.

Nong says that 90% of all vikings are male. So... wanna take any bets on the odds of this being a male in flower? @_@x

I will take a pic this weekend but I think it's male. Anybody want pollen or shall I cut the whole growing tip off to induce basal?

Hi all,
here are two shots of my hookerianas. Sorry for blur pic, I used Large size so as to have btter view of the buds.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2143/2029618594_76e65505f1_b.jpg
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2231/2029643850_911d879740_b.jpg
my photography is quite bad, the zoom is already at maximum (200mm), taken from my window (as I cant really access the flower now).
but the pics are still quite blur, and i cant quite determine from the blurred bud shapes whether they are male or female.
but from what I can see now, the former looks female (hongrui you will be glad to know its the 1 you have a basal cutting of), the other one male.
can anyone confirm this?
thanks
