Growing cacti from seed is a slow process but if the germination rate is good you would have many many seedlings.
To germinate well, the fresh has to be fresh. I had very good germination rate when I obtained the seeds from my own plants (parodias, mammillarias, melocactus etc). I have given up collecting cacti and succulents.
You can obtain seeds from some cacti and succulents growers overseas.

Regards,

Joseph.

Does it need a high temperature and lots of water before it starts sprouting?

I kept the soil quite wet. Now total 34 seedlings out of so many seeds. I think problem lies with the quality.

Anyone interested to order from http://www.mesagarden.com ? We can combine shipping!
