Hi All,

I saw this aroid, commonly called the "water banana" in the pond near the food court at the Singapore Botanic Gardens...

Does anyone know its scientific name?

From a far, the trunk sure looks like banana tree. But how does this plant got its name associated with banana from?

Until I started reading from this thread category, never knew they actually flower.
