Hi TALOS,

Thanks for sharing. This variegated Bucida tree is indeed a nice thing to have in any garden. Pretty fuss-free but more costly and very much slower growing compared to its non-variegated counterpart.

I am considering getting one for my community garden... If you notice NParks is also growing this variegated version in some parts of Singapore.

yo wilson,
haha! i know u share my love of this plant.
yeah, i've seen them growing along holland road and also beside PIE near CJC.
they are fuss free.
only thing is u gotta bear with it when they lose all their leaves when 'molting'.
but when the new leaves start coming out, they're simply gorgeous man!
so far, i've only seen them on sale at pioneer and prince landscape and nursery.
do u know of anywhere else that has them?

Hi TALOS,

I think Far East Flora also carries this plant. It is increasingly becoming popular with the locals here.

What is its growth rate like?

I see we may have our very own local X'mas tree!

hey buddy,
the growth rate is actually very slow.
that's why i like it.
i don wan it to grow as fast and large as the normal one.
hey here's a pic of a single layer bucida i saw at pioneer.
its damn gorgeous but it costs a bomb man.
wanted to get it but no space to put liao.

Wow Talos nice bucida there and well maintained garden. I always love the layering of the crown of the bucida plant makes it very serene. I have seen giant bucida in Malaysia VERY huge but it can be maintained as a bonsai if you trim its roots often.

Yo Bro,
Its the green type and they grow them as road side trees. They make a big mess when the leaves start to shed and the goverment will come and chop their branches all up. I hate when they do that , they don't prune or trim they choppppp the old trees away.

Hi tger,
i've got no chance to shine spot lights on mine anymore as i've moved the plants out of my house compound and planted them along the road side. :)/>
