Dionaea muscipula Typical

Common Type of Venus Flytrap. The only varieties can be found sale in some Singapore Nurseries; other varieties will have to order through Mass order from oversea.
Green margins and Red inner surfaces (under Full Sun) of the trap.
There are alot of Typical varieties are named differently, due to its size and coloriation on its trap. But those still consider under Typical.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula 'Akai Ryu'/Red Dragon

As same as Typical but the whole plant is in dark maroon to burgundy coloration throughout the year.
Any green coloration has only been noted around the center of the plant in mid-year.
It is a wonderful plant to add into your Dionaea collection.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula "Big Mouth"

It said that Dionaea "Big Mouth" variety can produces larger traps than typical with a very short leaves. Personally, i think 'Typical' can also grow large trap like "Big Mouth" too. So that is why the name is not registered with IRA, due to description insufficient.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula "Big Vigorous"

It grows a Giant trap than' Typical'.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula "Bristle Tooth"

New name in the list from Triffid Park. Similar to 'Sawtooth'. Having a lot of tiny teethlets, making a totally different appearance from the rest.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula 'Clayton's Red Sunset'

This plant is an all red flytrap which named ' Clayton's Red Sunset '.
It regularly grows up to 25 cm (10 inches) across, although extremely slowly, and is one of the wonders of the flytrap world.
The features which make this cultivar different from other red flytraps (such as Dionaea 'Akai Ryu' or Dionaea ' Red Piranha ') are the following:
A) petioles are almost always long and thin.
B) totally loses its leaves during winter.
C) totally red, except for the teeth on immature traps, which are yellow.
D) color is a deeper, darker red, almost black in the summer.
E) marginal spines are normal.

quoted from Carnivorous Plant Database & Bob's Dionaea Photo Database

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula "Creeping Death"

Got the seeds from Phil Golding.
He claimed this is a proven long-leaf and large-mouth form of venus flytrap, which was set aside and divided in their nursery several years ago. They have gained notariety as a hardy plant producing very large growth.
During summer, leaf petioles grow very long and narrow, twisting and bending as they produce traps well over 1".
In late fall a rosette of large traps forms tighter in toward the bulb.

From my experience of growing "Creeping Death", it traps is Huge during their young age like their parent VFT.

"Creeping Death" tends to resemble "Vigorous" in some ways, but “Creeping Death” traps are larger than those "Vigorous" VFT. - Quoted from Bob's VFT collection

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula "Cross Teeth"

"Cross Teeth" has an unqiue & distinguish form, Fused teeth & Square traps.
Its trap is mutated during tissue culture. The "Cross Teeth" trait only occasionally manifests.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula "Dutch"

From the "Dutch" i have. It seems to grow like "Vigorous" with summer leaves and curvy traps; Sometime it crossed its teeth too. Unlike Bob's Dionaea Gallery "dutch" information, "deep red traps and the teeth are also the same color." (correct me if i am wrong)

Overall, A giant & vigorous Typical Venus Flytrap.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula "Fang"

A Typical form of VFT which grows long "teeth" along its trap and possess of a beautiful red along its trap.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula "Fast"

It grows square shaped traps and upright leaves. Its named "Fast" because it is a fast growing VFT.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula "Fine Tooth X Red"

A typical Venus FlyTrap with red teeth & interiors. But from our collection of Fine Tooth X Red, doesnt have this character. Sometime typical will have its teeth red in certain condition or grown.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula "Long Red Fingers"

"Long Red Fingers" grows long leaves stem and square traps like "Cross Teeth"; Sometime it looks exactly the same.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula "Low Giant"

Another "Big Mouth" like Typical, grow short leaves and big traps.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula "Knuckleduster"

Typical Venus FlyTrap traps grow a small secondary spines on outer trap But this character will also appear in any other VFT forms.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula "Paradisia"

Just a typical form of VFT has its trap 'spotted' colorization.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula "Pink Venus"

A Red Venus FlyTrap grows broad leaves and stems, instead of Long and thin like 'Royal Red'.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula "Red-Green"

Similar to 'Royal Red', which has red and green colorization.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula 'Red Pirahna'

This is an interesting cultivar which crosses an all red clone with a dentate, then selfing the result. Because it is red and has trap bars that look like piranha teeth.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula "Red-Purple"

Also sometimes called "Big Mouth"quoted from Bob's Dionaea Photo Database

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula "Royal Red"

Not register. Distinct from other varieties in that all parts of the plant, with the exception of the margins of the traps are dark red in colour. Green margins and red inner surfaces of the trap are characteristics common to both 'Royal Red' and the normal form of Dionaea, and it is the colour of the other plant parts which make 'Royal Red' distinctive. Plants in winter dormancy and those grown in conditions of low light may lose some of the red pigmentation, but still retain appreciably more red pigment than typical Dionaeaquoted from Bob's Dionaea Photo Database

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula "Shark Teeth"

Dionaea muscipula "Shark's Teeth" is one of the dentate VFT forms, with truncated peripheral "teeth" along the traps. This clone is especially vigorous and forms lovely upright traps most of the year quoted from Polypompholyx's Personal Website

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula "Spider"

Dionaea muscipula "Spider" is one of the vigorous VFT forms, it grows very straight & long leaves with square traps.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dionaea muscipula "Vigorous"

Dionaea muscipula "Vigorous" grows like 'Typical' but much more vigorous.
