i think i saw those growing as part of the landscaping at newton food centre. it has a fragrance right?

Ooh this thread and the article is making me interested in gingers again! Where can I get this ginger? It sounds good for my shady location...

Hi Neverend,

World Farm has a lot of this ginger and it is not expensive. It is sold in a black bag and do pot it up in a big pot. I haven't got too much experience in growing it in a pot though so do let us know how it fares. Keep it well watered!

Any new picture of your Hedychiums?

I went to WF earlier this month and got some H. coronarium, a pot of Cestrum nocturnum and 2 pots of Ylang-Ylang. :flowers:/>

i was at the botanic gardens last sunday. the H. coronariums are blooming splendidly in the ginger section and the fragrance was just so wonderful. go check it out!

Do you know that besides white, there are other colors? and each color has a different fragrance.

yes i have read wilson's write-up. apparently the white variety has the strongest fragrance. are the other coloured varieties available here in our nurseries esply the peach coloured one? think i'll start a h. coronarium patch soon...hehe kena poisoned!
