this not not a nep. this is sarracenia purpurea, also know as the purple pitcher plant. It is easy to take care but it will need dormancy(refer to GCS archives 2006, the need for dormancy). I ever saw it being sold at the kovan nurseries.

Hi Everyone,
I've just been smitten by the CP bug. Here are some of the pitchers hanging under my mango tree. I'm very grateful to cindy, elgin, Bugman, 3SGJeff and Mr Lam for their advice & patience. :)/>

Bugman: I'll update you on how the cuttings are doing in the coming weeks. Thanks for sharing.

Does anyone know if the spotted pitchers in photo 2 and 3 belong to the same species?

Dav did mentioned most of his nep fr WF, i did saw N.VentricosaxSpathulata at WF not so long ago too, since it look so much like ventricosa, what characteristic of spathulata did it take?

Hi Elgin,
Here are the two neps I bought from you on 31 May 08. When I got them, the pitchers on the bigger nep were drying out, so I cut them off and placed it in bright shade. Here's what it looks like around noon today (12 Jul 08)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v434/118sqn/ElginNep1_12Jul08.jpg

The smaller nep is pitchering nicely. It's also placed in bright shade.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v434/118sqn/ElginNep2_12Jul08.jpg

Both are watered once a day. I also mist the tips of the leaves.

Here's my shaded area under a mango tree. Neps here are from Elgin, Lam, Bugman (cutting, still not rooted), Firefly and World Farm. Thanks very much for all your advice and to the other forumers whom I've bugged with questions.

Hi, I need help to repot my pitcher plant. There seems to be 2 plant in the small pot and one is growing longer and now the pot is lopesided. I don't want to kill the plant cos I don't know how to separate them n where to get the right soil etc. Do u think any nursery will help me separate into 2 pots or can anyone help? Really appreciate any advice. Thanks.
