I came across a beautiful Golden Barrel cactus at Jatujak weekend market 2 weeks ago. Its barrel is about 6-7 inches in diameter with healthy yellow spines and pest-free texture. When I was young, it's quite pricey to own one. For the time being, I think I can afford it and I shall buy one for home decoration. In order to maintain such pest-free and smooth texture, please advise me whether you guys need to spray onto its surface with any pesticides.

Please advise some practical & useful growing tips for me, please. Thanks for your kindness.

The Golden Barrel cactus (Echinocactus grusonii) is indeed 1 of the most beautiful yet easily available cactus.

Not necessary to spray any insecticide if there is no problem.

Place in area with full sun and open windy condition. Other standard cactus care applies.

Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden in Pattaya has a nice cactus collection. Huge golden barrels- look like large foot stools with spines!!!

I love the golden barrel.
I went to Ikea and bought one today. Some flaws on the body, but it was the only big one there and I really have to buy it. :hammer:
