My cucumber sprouts (I used seeds from those old cucumbers for cooking soup at the supermarket) are very leggy. Is this right?
Some of them have fallen over and just rots away. :(/>/>/>/>/>/>/>

I sprouted them in the corridor which unfortunately does not have much sunlight. It only received like 1hr direct sunlight. The rest of the day it gets bright shade.
Should I just sprout them in a more sunny area next time?
They aren't supposed to be this leggy right?

It is 'damping off' problem, don't know the cause, fungus, bacteria or nematodes etc.. Some types of plant seeds growing in black soil has this problems sometimes. Try potting soil, or other medium see if possible. I haven't grow cucumber before.. Maybe hydroponics may work. Sun ofcourse has an effect on growth. Leggy growth may mean not enough sun, but it is a vine and it is supposed to have long stem.

I think more direct sun might help.
