I just bought an orchid from market 2 weeks ago,and I notice that the new bud seems to wither out even though the old flowers are still there, the media is charcoal, and I have not been touching it. Was told to water once every 2 days, plant was put in the service yard not under direct sun but with open air.Mnot sure what I am doing wrong as this is my first time trying to grow orchids.

two possible reasons
1) you have hit the flower accidentally without knowing it Or it has been left in a car and the heat got it.
2) you mist the flower which introduces fungus.

Thanks for the reply, I water mainly on the charcoal, though water might have gotten to the lower leaf accidentally. So if there is fungus, hey would be growing on the leaf as well? For no. 1, what can I do to make the plant recover?

you can use fungicides but those turn brown will not recover. Just be careful when it is going to flower again lo.
