Lc. Little Fairy (Hope I was right about the ID). Finally, it's spiking!! But, the spike is crooked. :blink:/>/>/>
Because of the sheath. I cut opened the sheath today and brought it indoor. This should be a spike with character. :wub:/>/>/>

15 Jul 2015: The spike is completely crooked, I had to force bend it a little so that it doesn't rub against the leaf. The blooms should be horizontal this time. Still in love with it. Not sure what it is going to be, cause I got it without any ID or flowers.

Another pot of NOID. Hope it's going to be the yellow flowers, Lc. Little Fairy.
New roots are bursting out. Potted in clay pot with almost all sphagnum. It dries up too quickly.

Bc. Sun Mei Gold is in spike again. This time two spikes! This one is mounted on a wood slab. West planter full sun condition.

http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u403/Jim_Yung/DSC_0020_zpskimzowjk.jpg

This is the one in full bloom at the moment. Potted in clay pot, indoor west sill condition.

http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u403/Jim_Yung/DSC_00032_zps3ywrxebk.jpg

This one came with a tag of Bc. Morning Glory, but I doubt that it's true. More like a Bc. Hippodamia. Mean time, it is a NOID until it blooms again for confirmation.
I mounted it 3 months ago, it grew a new shoot, and now it's spiking.

http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u403/Jim_Yung/DSC_0024_zpsujvaafuq.jpg

Flower looks like this.

B. nodosa X C. aclandiae

Mounted on a slab. Blooms look larger than its usual size with longer petals and sepals. Colors are different as well. The photo don't do the justice as the actual colors are much darker and vivid.

New acquisition, an old favorite. Potinara Burana Beauty. Repotted into a clay pot even it's in bud now.
Compact growth pattern. Blooms will be fragrant. Will give an update again.

31 Jul 2015.

In full bloom now, flower size is quite small. Slight floral fragrance in the morning. The color arrangement on these flowers is the one thing that makes you either love or hate it. it's a bit dazing and colors are "peloric". I don't think I'm liking it, maybe the next bloom?

I'm so excited for this one.
It a Blc. Alma Kee-like NOID. Yellow blooms with red lip. Always in love with this one. Now, it's in bud!!!
After repotting, the first new growth is giving me a spike. Most probably just one bud as the pseudobulb doesn't look too big, or slightly smaller than the older ones. But it's spiking. That means it's got enough enough sunlight. I had to cut open the tip of sheath just to prevent the spike from struggling in there. There are two more pseubodbulbs as well with sign / shadow of bud in sheath. I'm very pleased with this one.

25 Jul 2015.

The one and only bud has rotted on me. I'm very pissed. I cut opened the sheath cause I wanted it to develop smoothly. It turned out to be trapping water droplet after I watered it last weekend. What else I can do? I'll just have to wait for another pseudobulb to budding again. :ranting2:/>

On the same sill, Lc. Trick or Treat is going extremely slow. Tall pseudobulbs are maturing with sheaths but no sign of spike. I'm going to very disappointed if none of them give me at least one spike from the two new pseudobulbs. They do have some droplets of sap on the sheath. Fingers crossed, please spike for me.

I'm so pleased with my Blc. Orange Nugget. It's still in bloom since the first bud opened more than a month ago. The colors are just getting darker and flashier.
A very mild floral scent in the morning. The newest pseudobulb seems to be putting up a shadow of spike under the sheath.

Finally, it's affirmative that this is a Slc. Little Fairy. First bloom has opened this morning and it quickly developed to open fully in the evening.
Quite flashy with waxy petals and sepals. One thing that amazed me was I didn't expect the red splash on the lip is going to be that large and deep. It started with some green tinge and turning to darker yellow within a day. Additionally, it has two red blotches on the tip of petals. What a fantastic display. I'm very impressed.

It has no fragrance? No scent detected on the second day as well. Should it be fragrant?

Bc. Sun Mei Gold.

2 spikes with 5 blooms, blasted 1 and left with 4.
It's got so much sun until the leaves are turning yellowish. The blooms too. Looks like the yellow tone is so much darker even when it just started to open. The red splotches too. Could be due to the heat and light. It's really flashy and perhaps flamboyant? It's a resemblance of leopard print on orchid flower.

It's weird for a Bc. Sun Mei Gold to open its bud so slowly. It takes 3 days to get to half-opened. But the colors are definitely more striking than those grown indoor, at sill condition. The red speckles are darker and larger. More count as well. Deep yellow, almost orangy with tinges of redness on petals and sepals.

Finally, Slc. Little fairy is in full bloom. Substance is heavy and I'm still admiring the darker shades of yellow on the outer edges.
As usual, waxy with 2 red specs, one on each tip of petals. The red splash on the lips are just so pleasing to the eye. It's mesmerizing as if it's a lipstick smudge.

By the way, the pseudobulbs are looking shriveled no matter how much water and moisture I gave. Is it because of the plant used too much energy to feed the blooms? Is it a norm for this Slc.? It's a little unsightly.

6 Aug 2015:

The colors have deepen significantly and it just started to emit a slightly stronger sweet floral fragrance this morning.

This catt is extremely long lasting.
Blc. Hawaiian Wedding Song. The single bloom has been staying on for more than 1 month and still smelling strong this morning. Glad that I have it.

12 Aug 2015: Finally, it wilted. Total of flowerspan - 6 weeks which is amazingly long lasting.

Random check today and found a spike on Bc. Little Stars x Enc. Tampensis. This plant has been exposed to ful sun but lucky me, it didn't get scorched yet, it gives me a spike. The blooms are going to be small, light greenish petals and sepals with purplish lip. It's as cute as twinkle little stars.

Lc. Trick or Treat.I don't understand or I rather confused. Two mature pseudobulbs are as large as the older ones, with two stagnant sheaths for weeks. No sign or shade of spike under the sheaths. Instead, bunch of roots were sent out two days ago. Are they not going to spike for me at this stage? Or just growing something else? When they grow roots, will they still spike? Anyone familiar with this Lc.?Will they grow enough roots and then flower? It's gonna be extremely disappointed if those are blank sheaths cause it took almost 8 months to maturing the bulbs. :mellow:/> http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u403/Jim_Yung/20150804_073136_zpsgee1hk9r.jpg?1438654336395&1438654337359http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u403/Jim_Yung/20150804_073452-1_zpsveguapim.jpg?1438654336395&1438654337359

Oh sh*t! I spotted a snail in one of my catts' media, I poured 3% H2O2 into the pot and soaked it for 30 mins. I didn't realized it was going to kill it rather than disinfecting (The snail did die anyway). Now, the plant suffers chemical burn on the roots. The root ball was completely hardened and bleached out. It's on its way out.
But, I'm feeling lucky that I didn't pour that into most of my catts. What a horrific experience.

Anyone had this problem before?

Blc. Green Taipower, again :)/>/>/>/>/>/>/>

This is a repeat, not because of impulse, but this baby has 3 huge new pseudobulbs which the first one is already in full bloom. Two others are budding! And I'm always in love with this catt., waxy sepals and petals, eye catching fluffy red lip. I'm so excited. The growth looks really aggressive and it smells great too during the day. I think it's worth to spend the money for some continuous blooms that last for at least 3 months!

Better shot showing the true color below. More greenish blooms.

Hi Brett,

Can you tell me how you order your phals from Taiwan? I'm looking for some that seem like will not be available locally (like forever).

Thanks.
