Weird Stuff Plant buddies?

Hi guys so this matter has been is turning my uncle for some time .
He has a pomegranate plant that was dying because he had a fertilized it with tea leaves. He then planted spearmint in the same pot and the pomegranate started sprouting lots of new shoots.I have no pics but that's all I can say. Can experts help solve this mystery?

When u put tea leaves , u have change the pH of soil of the soil . So naturally the plant suffer a shock and drop all its leave. As the tea leaf breakdown ,the pH return to normal and the plant grow new leaves.

Oic but I thought mint was invasive? Wouldn't the mint like murder the plant
