Hi! Was very excited when I saw the very first flower from the plant, thought I will share it on the forum. Didn't even know the plant can flower, have had the plant for many years... It is probably common occurrence, but I was nonetheless chuffed to see it... Hahahaha!!

Yes, it is one zany looking plant. At first glance, I wouldn't have thought is was an aroid!

Any particular thing you did to get it to flower? I might want to try to get mine to do the same ^_^/>

I was surprised and delighted to see afew pots of my zz plant flowered this year too. Apart from adding sheep manure to the soil as fertiliser, I did not do anything special. I had the first plant for more than 5 years and the rest were transplanted from the first.

Errr.... To be honest I have no idea why the plant flowered this year. It is super low maintenance and I feed it with poo pellets (from FE Thomson) every few months. The poo pellets are supposed to promote foliage (cos I never knew it can flower) .... Not useful at all....??
