Any orchid growers here have dendrobium spectabile? can bloom here?

I read cannot bloom here in the lowlands, is it???

Btw, boonboon, your Dendrobium macrophyllum canes so tall?
Mine every short and bui one.
Not the same variety?

keep a look out during SGF. A lot of OSSEA members has this plant.

If I am not wrong, the flowers of the shorter variety are hairy but scentless. The taller ones bear hairless but fragrant flowers. Like Dendrobium spectabile, Dendrobium macrophyllum is a reluctant bloomer in the lowlands. They bloom easily in the cool house of the National Orchid Gardens.
