I remember last year end also similarly cold except nowhere as dry.
But the cold ended quite fast
These few days big sun you all noticed? There's not much heat.
I'm surprised my ascocentrum and Rhyncho didn't burn under direct afternoon sun

Lavendergarden: Not all uncles and aunties are as proficient in english then you ma!.

Can't wait for taiwan jumbo to sell their orchid at SGF !.

Hi Lionel

Thank you for the translation but the Chinese sentences seem very long. Are you sure that's it?

Cheers

Glenn didn't translate...

Drekster meant to say that the Sentosa Flower Show is on yearly and there ain't one this year. He wondered why since the weather is cool and flowers should last longer. But perhaps lower humidity could also cause the flowers to wither faster. He mentioned that some say florists bring their remaining plants/flowers to Sentosa for sale because the tickets are their final profit (for the CNY, I guess). :flowers:/>

cold is not a problem, the dry air is. in the highlands the air are cool but humidity is high. seriously i dun think that the SGF has anything to do with the sentosa show.

for SGF, The plants are expensive. the last show, i was there but only bear to buy at the last day. due to regulation, the media needs to be change before coming to singapore, hence many plants with media are injured. however, it is always nice to visit the show to look and see whats new.

my phal which was brought (wl :no blossom ) last year has spiked but not bloom yet.

Last year I internship itchy hands go buy 2 Taiwan phal that not in bloom at katong and tied it on the mount in my dayak dome now one is blooming !.

haha !.

Maybe it is trues tha mottled leafs phals like schillerianal, stuartiana, lindeii, celebensis loves moist and humid cool condition. I heard from taiwan jumbo mentioning that in pingtung 20 degrees celsius to 22-23 degrees celsius with high humdity could make these picky mottled leafs phals to bloom because of the habitats they grow in are usually had a experiences of a long dry and cool phase and sudden moist and cool phase !.

This are the guesses I made not it might be correcy or wrong either. So don't take it to heart.
