Nonetheless, a drumstick was booked when my mom prepared the drunken chicken. I will see you on Sunday for my slice of heavenly bite...

What kind of apples do you use? I precook green apples with some grated red apples, golden raisins, raw /demerara sugar. a few sticks of cinnamon and cloves for a few minutes.( can also use cinnamon powdwer if u get nice fragrant ones.)That way I can taste and control the filling before I put it in the pie .

Or I change it to apple crumble, much easier.
looking forward to some pie.:)/>

haha mine is more simple, I've used normal granny smith green apples for my first try and it turned out alright, then I stumbled upon normal fuji apples and they tasted much better. They are larger and juicier and much easier to peel and hold to cube it. I'll be using my frequently used recipe, apples, nutmeg, cinammon, sugar, brown sugar and butter for the filling. Tho its simple, its really tasty in the end, though I need more experience to master the liquid content of the finished product. Its either too dry or too watery, tried to precook it to gauge the liquid but it has helped only a little bit.

Fuji red is not as crispy as Grannys and it quickly turns to mush ;thats why your bottom can become soggy ;D.Do you bake your crust first ?

Must look out for you. I am making my steamed porkballs- mixed with water chestnuts and black fungus ; ah,I must remember to buy some chilli sauce.

Will plates and utensils be provided?
otherwise I'll buy some , disposable ones.

or like what ppl mentioned here, going eco n i'll bring my own plate n utensils =p

Oh and Bee Sting, I've rectified the soggy issue by precooking the apple filling and then draining away the liquid that seeps out. Um i do not bake the crust first, im worried that it might go chao tar haha.

Oh so wasted u drain off the juices. Just saw your post. Next time just add a tsp of cornflour to thicken the apple filling.

I have disposable cups with me. I brought some recycled tabao containers as bowls. Aim is for members to bring their own if possible.

Hi all,

Some members may have problem buying the food they intend to get due to weather, maybe they can consolidate some money and order pizza, KFC for the gathering. Those that have no idea what to bring can also chip in to share the costs.

Cheers,
Ben
