I saw his sale clearance advertisement years ago. His plants are not cheap and I am not talking about the heritage orchids that I could not afford to buy.

Can share with us what do you buy from the trip? :flowers:/>

Agreed , his orchids not cheap, feel he is more of a collector than a businessman,
at his age, to rattle on about all that large collection is amazing, when ppl of the same age brains are largely not quite functioning properly
We couldnt afford much, my friend bought 3 beautiful Kiyoko Obata cutting ( $10 per cutting)- he refuse to part with the whole plant,
I am not an orchid person -he gave me (FOC) a small minature oncidium (mounted) & another mounted cutting D. glatton sunray-(was admiring the bloom on a mother plant)

Glad to find this thread.

I go to Adam road presbyterian so I often walk past his place and always jot a mental note to visit it soon. Glad I did so today. Mr Koh is such a friendly character. He basically told me about his three children's life stories in the time he tied my orchid cutting to a coconut husk.

He says he needs to clear up the 1000 over orchids because he's getting old already.

I think we should all go and buy as much as possible hor? He's selling cheap nowadays I think. The orchid I got was only $28. His own hybrid. He said he used to sell for $80 plus.

Everyone go visit okay? :)/>

Not really... you tell him your budget and he gives you a selection.
My friend informed him that she only had $10 to spare, and he gave
her a $15 item; and discounted cos he likes her. 8)

I am curious if anyone has been to Mr Koh's nursery lately? How is he?

I remember him fondly as I use to 'help out' after school as a kid :blush:/> (Was just happy to be surrounded by lovely orchids all the time).

I had weird obsessions as a kid... Unfortunately the obsessions stayed with me into my old age!

First digit is 1 la. And u're right it's 3 digits. But only for a small cutting. Roots already grow into the coconut husk though. I was hoping maybe wpon leng or song has.. oh well. I guess he has a house in adam road and the others dont for a reason. Haha.

He likes to sell small cutting like ONE pseudo bulb with a small lead on cocohusk. Mind you. You have to separate it as such combo is not suitable to grow in flats. Once the roots are damaged, the plant will die and there goes your $$$.
