Astrophytum asterias is a species of cactus in the genus Astrophytum, and is native to small parts of Texas in the United States and Mexico. Even though I have not given it direct sunlight half of the time, hence its elongated growth; it still blooms whenever the sun shifted position and graced its ray of light on my windowsill.

My Astrophytum asterias is blooming again. Enjoy it while it last as the flower withers on the third day after opening the petals.

The mercury continues to dip lower each day in the Northern Hemisphere. Meanwhile at the equator, the sun has re-positioned itself; streaming sunlight to my windowsill. The Astrophytum asterias basking in the warm rays, gathered the energy to flower yet again.
