3-4 ft seems pretty far for my orchid rack

Hi RR, can you post some pictures of how your plants are doing now?

I've added orchids all around my indoor bonsai trees, and all is well. However, I'd rather have them outside, which I will do soon, more for the ease of watering them all in one shot. I also find that the flowers last longer outside where it's cooler (unless I turn on the aircon of course), even if I have Vornado air circulators inside.

The real test are the Vandaceous orchids, as they require more light.

They are at the side of one bonsai setup, and with a light meter, they are receiving 20k (1858 fc) to 30k lux (2787 fc) for 12 hrs a day. I have another one under 10k lux. No problem in growth. Flowering ?

The flowers on our Vanda Colmarie orchid had faded a month ago and I cut the single spike. I thought I will have to wait another year, as I read that others had a problem getting them to flower. Today, about a month later, I see two new spikes emerging, excited as I really like the flowers' scent on this orchid, plus more than last time.

Just used a handphone for the quick picture below of the Vanda Colmarie. The phone camera only seems to show most of the light's magenta hue (I had to desaturate it in the picture), but in actual it is more of a warm yellow light, just like a normal light, not purple as we see online mostly.
