Hi all to those who received seeds from Kauderwelsch and Mr Lee, I have created this new thread so that we can see our progress and discuss on how we can progress on.

After Abby and cacti learner, I am also pleased to announce that my A. agavoides have germinated -- 2 out of the 4 sowed. I will post the picture tmrw.

Anyone who got the Frailea asteroides seed, managed to germinate it? My one and only seed still no sign of growth.

derelor, I did not know that ariocarpus seeds are available. I would like to try them too. But let me sow those seeds that Abby has mailed me on Friday.

the ariocarpus seeds are Mr Lee's ones, which he included among the list to be given and shared.

I didn't find any chestnut @ his place, those look alike are green green, may be due to his shadecloth, but some of his plants color turn so red or brown too leh, just wonder how.

His peanut also grow on its own roots without grafting, I got hope liao.

I have a late bloomer seed, so its 3 out of 4 germinated. But the rest probably ....

Here is my progress report.

3 out of 4 species of seeds that I have received from Mr. Lee sprouted. 1,3,25.

(1) Astrophytum myriostigma

So small the 'baby'. Any one can advice how to grow this seedling?

My (18)sedum hernandezi still has no sign of germination. Anyone success to germinate of sedum Hernandezi, pls share ley. :P/>

cacti learner: were your echeveria lauii seeds in powder form, or you can aactually see seeds? cos my package seems to be very powdery.

Hi Derelor,
The seeds are very tiny and look like powder form. Have you potted them? It will take around 5-7 days to germinate. :flowers:/> :flowers:/>

yes, i sowed it already with my ariocarpus seeds at the same time, but i didn't get any response. if you dun mind, can you spare me a few of your seedlings when its ready to be transplanted?

No problem derelor. Hope that they will survive and grow till been transplant. Normally how long will it take to transplant? 3-6 months?

Hi all

I am really new at this so please pardon me if I ask stupid questions. I will be planting the Sedum hernandezi seeds soon. May I know what mix I should use? and after planting them, do i keep them in brigh shade?

cacti learner: i think 3-6 months should be ok bah. i think it all boils down to how big the seedling is, especially when you have so many in such a small pot.

jeffrey: everyone has their unique recipe, mine is 4:1 volcanic sand:volcanic soil. potted in thumb pots seated in a take-away container buried to the waist to maintain humidity and left uncovered. top spray them whenever i think its too dry. gets sun from 9-12noon.

the rest of them who are succuessful will probably share their recipe later on.
