Culinary ginger flower Looks like an orchid flower but isn't...

My culinary gingers (zingiber officinale) have started flowering and the flowers are really beautiful! Check out the close up of it:

Thats pretty. Are they fragrant ??

Didn't try sniffing them as the flowers came up in the middle of the ginger patch. As it is, the leaves and stem of the plant are fragrant themselves - just lightly brushing them releases a delicate scent of ginger. And, you can't tell from the picture, but the red flower is only about 1cm in height!

Lovely bloom .... I can imagine if a whole patch flower at the same time .... it would indeed be stunning.
Any chance of that ginger patch of yours doing that? Would really love to see that too :-)
