Hi, i am bugged by the sunflower i saw at hortpark. Possible to grow them in balcony? I get very good strong sunlight for 6 months or so.

Thanks!

Just try. Don't expect a lot for a start. But will get better with experience. Trouble with seeds is that they may not be true as advertised.

Sure. It's not that hard. Here are some pointers

- sow seed directly to the place when you want to grow it. Never transplant!
- the larger area, the better, if pot, at least 20 inch pot and deep
- any soil would do but best is compost. Don't need any other thing like perlites or vermiculite, just compost.
- water everyday, especially morning
- when plant about 2 feet tall, fert npk 15-15-15 every 5 days
- when plant about 4 feet tall, fert npk 15-15-15 every 3 days
- when plant has flower bud forming, fert npk 15-15-15 everyday, put bone meal once a week

Hope it helps
