Hi, I'm new to growing anthuriums.

Back in February my mum bought a pot from IKEA. It had only one flower that was light red and mostly green in color. Until today, it's still the same as it was, no change in size and no signs of withering. The leaves are growing bigger and I've been feeding the plant flowering fertilizer every fortnight.

Looks as if the flower is plastic though I know it's real. There are also no signs of new flowers growing. I'm just wondering if this is normal and whether the plant requires more fertilizer to flower.

Leaves-wise, they're doing okay with a healthy shade of bright green.

Would be grateful for any advice, thanks!

Hi alice_avgirl,

the growing leaves of the Anthurium means that it is focusing its energy on physical growth (or green growth if you prefer). Give it some time, and the first inflorescence may die off and a new one would replace it.

Thanks Boon Kun, I shall wait patiently for that to come :)/>
