Hi Wilson

I just joined !

Have this gatherings started already ? I have been looking for a gardening club to join especially for HDB dwellers like me ( no space ) . I would like to get together to share and learn from each other.

I am just doing a rough survey to ascertain the interest for plant-specific gatherings for members from this forum.

1. How keen are you? - very keen

2. Which days of the week and time of the day do you prefer such an event to be held?- Sat morning 8am

3. Informal or formal?- informal preferable can wear t-shirt and shorts

4. Meeting with a specific aim or topic to talk about? - it would be good if we can have an advance agenda so that all of
us can read up or get ready questions to ask and share .

5. Any other suggestions? Good if we can touch on problems on growing plants in HDB always short of space and sun...hahaha

Actually, there are informal group meeting all yet round, Tilly and sometime Epicia & related Ges will have open invitation, other than that, you have to be active and make more friend in the forum before you can be invited if the group members feel comfortable with you.

We have even include makan outing, pineapple / CNY baking, Chinese tea appreciation, afternoon tea gathering, clay flower making, handicraft, sewing in addition to gardening.

Look at all the 'club" and be active to share your plants and interest, you will be invited to share with others, don't miss the GCS annual gathering, that is the time to get to know and present yourself to be "kaki" for the private invitation.

Just my own experience to share.

You have to be active and show your face in the GCS annual gathering to make some friends there before you be invited to other interest group.

*lol* I'm a bit late replying but... better late than never right?

1. How keen are you? Very keen.

2. Which days of the week and time of the day do you prefer such an event to be held? Weekends. Preferably Sundays. I have choir practices on Saturdays. If Saturday then evenings are good for me. If Sunday then morning to late afternoon.

3. Informal or formal? Definitely informal.

4. Meeting with a specific aim or topic to talk about? To meet new friends. To visit people's gardens. To maybe go shopping or outing or makan together. I don't have many plants. But I am always happy to share food.

5. Any other suggestions? JB trips! *lol* I love lil bus outings with friends. Visiting nurseries. Possibly looking for nice cheap plants.
