Hi Everyone,

I am just doing a rough survey to ascertain the interest for plant-specific gatherings for members from this forum.

1. How keen are you?

2. Which days of the week and time of the day do you prefer such an event to be held?

3. Informal or formal?

4. Meeting with a specific aim or topic to talk about?

5. Any other suggestions?

Wilson

2. Which days of the week and time of the day do you prefer such an event to be held?
- weekends

3. Informal or formal?
- Informal

4. Meeting with a specific aim or topic to talk about?
- It would be better if groups with a common interest get together so that we can exchange info or plants. With a smaller group, people would get to know each other better.

5. Any other suggestions?
- Perhaps an outing to some of the nurseries which are located in the rural nurseries in Kranji as most people do not drive. Although with the recent mosquitoe borne virus, we may have to postpone the outing to some other time. Perhaps also to the seed suppliers?

I am keen too.

And would like to add more to the above mentioned:

---- edible plant gathering like the one we have it before.

---- orchid grower gathering

---- and now we have something interesting to learn from Alex: Tissue Culture.

---- Visiting to AVA

Q.1 Depends on topic of interest... always Neps, Neps, Neps!!!!! :ranting2:/> :angry:/>

Q.2 After office hours, weekdays or weekends. Make it easier, venue at member's place on rotation basis, unless the group is very large.

Q.3 Formal = Black tie affairs?? Then better be informal, but PLEEZZZE.. no singlets, shorts or slippers... and NO PYJAMAS!! :hysterical:/>

Q.4 Specific or common interest. My interest = foliage plants (money plant, bostern ferns, coleus), 'butterflies' plants (lime), vines & creepers (blue peas, kangkong), container gardening, flowering plants (episcia, tabernaemontana) ... again Neps, Neps, Neps!!!! :ranting2:/> :angry2:/>

Q.5 Visits to nurseries, to members' gardens for viewing pleasure, to members with gardens that need help (landscaping suggestions, poorly-performing plants, screening garden for growing conditions, pruning, repotting), to tools and paraphernalia shops, 'Items for Exchange or FOC' Day.
