I have a spiral ginger, I think is costus woodsonii. Eight months ago my mum do a stem cutting of woodsonii with the red bud intact, until now, the red bud did not bloom and the stem did not grow any taller neither is the leaves but it is still surviving. I am just wondering is the bud not going to bloom, is it going to be like than forever. What should I do with this original stem? Should I just snip off the bud? However there is another stem which branch out and is now one and a half feet tall. I am new to costus woodsonii, ginger expert please help

Hi there,

The plant just simply needs to be given more light and a feeding of fertiliser. Use those that are from an organic source will be sufficient.
