The Neglected Mock Strawberry

The mock strawberry plant is an attractive, miniaturised version of the edible strawberry plant. It exudes some charm but seems that it is not commonly grown or popular amongst gardeners due to the belief that it can be an invasive plant. In this article, Wilson shares some tips on how one can appreciate this dainty plant whilst still able to exert some control to confine the wandering stolons of this plant.

Hi All,

Sorry for the late reply and I am glad this plant has aroused some interest.

For those who are keen to grow this plant, just to let you know that a 15 cm pot of mock strawberry plant can be purchased from World Farm at a very affordable price.

Hi All,

The plant is actually placed near medicinal herb section under shelter. You will see the sago palms just next to it.

Went yesterday but didn't find it too. Was also trying to find the Shooting star hoya but fail too.

u bought the red sela? it's a very nice plant! ^_^/> water it lots, lots..mine is almost standing in a tray of water..in our recent heatwave, it can wilt overnight..

shooting star hoya i think AMK & woon leng have. saw some at these 2 places not too long ago.. :)/>

I found it! Whats the max size of the berries? Or do they stay as miniatures??

the berries r tiny if compared to the strawberry. Slightly bigger than the size of M&M chocolate peanut candy with very faint and subtle favor of strawberry

I think the size depends on the temperature it is grown in. I have seen much bigger ones growing in cold climate. My died after mites attacked it :(/>
